FOTM: October

It’s time again for my “Favorite Of The Month” post…I can’t believe how fast October went by! Today is Happy Halloween to all of you who celebrate it! πŸ™‚ I like all the decorations but I’m not a big fan of dressing up so I went to work as me today. πŸ˜›

So, here are my favorite things of the month of October:

1. Halloween rubber stamps

I’m a big fan of rubber stamps and clear stamps and this month I used my Halloween rubber stamps a LOT! πŸ˜€ I bought them all for $1 or less at Michael’s.

2. Halloween/fall stationery

This month I wrote lots of letters with my beautiful Halloween and fall stationery that I ordered online last year. It’s computer stationery but I like using it for my handwritten letters. πŸ™‚ Eventhough I’m a huge fan of cute Asian stationery, I also like using seasonal paper for my letters to give them a special touch. πŸ™‚

3. Etsy

I’ve spent quite some time browsing on Etsy in October and I ordered cute deco tape and a little rubber stamp. Have you ever bought anything on Etsy? Or do you even sell things on Etsy?

Only two months left until the year is over…but now the fun part begins: the holiday season! I’m SO looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas! πŸ˜€

Great Goodwill Finds

Last night I went on a little shopping spree because I wanted to pick up a few things for my cousin’s baby shower next week. I also stopped at our local Goodwill store (thrift store). Every now and then I like to check and see if they have some ‘hidden treasures’. My co-worker finds awesome goodies there all the time…and last night I finally was successful! πŸ˜€ I found a package with the cutest stationery set and bought it for $2.99 πŸ˜€ Thank you to whoever donated it to Goodwill! It looks a little old but it’s still in great condition and I can’t wait to write letters with it.

Furthermore I found two old books which I’m going to take apart and use for my envelope making. β™₯ (Here’s my envelope making tutorial)

One is an old world atlas from 1992 ($2.99) and the other book is an old Disney book called “Look and find Mickey and friends”, which was $1.99.Β  I picked it because the pictures in it are colorful, fun and big enough to use for my envelopes. πŸ™‚

If you have a Goodwill store or other thrift stores in your area…check them out, you never know what treasure you might find! πŸ˜€

My Goodwill finds:

The cute stationery set came with writing paper, envelopes, cards and smaller paper:

And the books I’m using for making my envelopes:

Pixar Collectible Postcards

Last week I was browsing on Amazon, searching for non-touristy postcards, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I came across this awesome Pixar Collectible Postcards box! πŸ˜€ I love postcards and I love the Pixar movies…so of course I had to get the box. Especially since it was only around $12 for 100 cards. I received them a few days ago and I love each and every one of the cards. Since I mostly only collect touristy postcards, I’m going to send some of these to penpals and other swappers/collectors…but I’ll keep my favorite ones. β™₯

You can order the Pixar postcard box at Amazon.

What’s your favorite Pixar movie? And do you also like the Pixar short movies? I LOVE “For the Birds” and “La Luna”. β™₯

A week full of mail ♥

Wow, this past week was another great mail week…outgoing and incoming! Since Monday was a holiday here in the US, we had only 5 mail days instead of 6 this week. I love holidays but I also love receiving mail…so I’m a bit torn between both.

Here’s my mail of this week:

Fat envelope to Australia πŸ™‚

4-postcard swap to Germany:

Letter to California…I love my owl stamp!

Another fat envelope…this one went to South Korea…isn’t the double stamp pretty? β™₯

One of my favorite Halloween envelopes πŸ˜€

And another Halloween letter:

The big envelope contained all the papers and stickers for my friend and the small one was a swap to a nice lady in Honduras. My first mail to Honduras ever! I’m very excited about that! πŸ˜€

I’ve also sent out 2 more single postcards and one 4 card postcard swap to New Zealand…I just forgot to take pictures.

This week was a great postcard week. I received a total of 15 postcard (6 alone yesterday! :D)

My friend from the Netherlands sent me a Dutch magazine πŸ˜€

And these three Postcrossing cards came from Michigan, England and Germany:

Postcrossing swap from Belarus:

Four beautiful postcards from Bavaria (private swap):

And my dear friends always think of me when they go places…so this week I received a cool subway map postcard from Berlin, my very first Pennsylvania postcard and one from southern Germany. I love them all! πŸ˜€

And the last two postcards were private swaps and came from Italy and Transnistria, which is a breakaway territory between Moldova and Ukraine. It’s one of my most ‘exotic’ postcards. πŸ˜€

Thanks so much to everyone who helps me expand my postcard collection (and supports my addiction πŸ˜‰ )

I hope I’ll receive a few letters this upcoming week because I have not a single one to write and I’m in the writing mood! ^^ Happy mail week everyone!

Crafty shopping haul

This week I went to one of my favorite craft storesΒ  – Michael’s. Once again they had some great sales and I found/bought more than I expected. πŸ˜‰

I totally fell in love with this cute paper which I’m going to use to make my envelopes:

Each pack has 25 sheets, 5 of every kind.

I also found these cute Christmas/winter stickers. Each sticker book contains over 200 stickers and was only $1.

Half of the papers and stickers are on their way to a friend of mine because I like sharing nice things with nice people. πŸ™‚

On my way to the register I walked by a bin with tons of different rubber stamps that are normally $1 a piece. But to my surprise I paid only 60 cents per stamp, which made me very happy because I LOVE rubber stamps! β™₯

My favorite of all is this one:

It’s the perfect stamp for a letter lover like me and I was thrilled when I found it! πŸ˜€

And here are the other ones I bought:

I already have so many crafty things and papers…but I never can walk by great stuff like this without looking at it…which most of the time leads to buying it. Haha.

Where do you buy crafts supplies? And what are your favorite things to buy? As you can see mine are papers, stickers and rubber stamps. πŸ˜€
