Happy Easter!

I hope all of my readers (who celebrate this holiday) have a happy Easter! 🙂

It’s been quiet on my blog for the past few weeks because my motivation has been absent due to lots of stress and sickness. I also haven’t been writing a whole lot lately and so I’ve only sent out very few letters. Thankfully I have very understanding penpals who patiently wait for my letters. 😉

Eventhough I don’t have much to tell right now I thought I’d share some colorful outgoing mail of this month:

Oh and since it’s still so dark and grey outside (winter when will you finally leave?!) I want to share some more color with you…this is some of the yarn I’m using for my granny square blanket…and I received it a few weeks ago. ♥

Happy weekend and happy Easter!

Never ending mail

While most of the Americans are sitting in front of their TVs tonight, watching this year’s Super Bowl, I’ll be writing this blog post, finishing a letter to a penpal and writing a postcard. I admit it: I’m NOT a football fan! And to be honest, I don’t care. 😉 So, now that we talked about that, lets move on to something that’s a lot more fun for me: MAIL! 😀

This past week was another great mail week and I could get used to receiving lots of mail every single day. ♥

Monday mail…a letter, lots of cards and my sister’s card from New Zealand which she sent in November ^_^

Look at all the pretty stamps on the postcards! 🙂

Swap-bot swap postcards

And some more…

And more ^_^

A letter from Amit in India…with lots of cool stamps! 😀

And the last batch of postcards from a private swap and a Swap-bot swap. My collection is growing! 😀

A ton of postcard swaps for Swap-bot and Postcrossing:

I love my new airmail tape! 😀

Some Valentine’s Day cards for my penpals

The inside of my mailbox yesterday before the mailman picked up my mail. 🙂

Other than writing cards and preparing swaps I haven’t done much this week. I want to catch up with my letters now and then get back to doing crafts like envelopes and cards etc.

Letter pile I’m working on at the moment…

How many letters do you have to write at the moment? And how much mail do you get per week?

Bread and color please!

The first two weeks of the new year have been pretty busy and I didn’t feel like writing or blogging at all. So of course now I have a lot of catching up to do…blog posts and letters. 😉 I have to write 6 letters…

Last weekend my husband and I drove to New Hampshire and Vermont for the weekend to do a bread baking class at King Arthur in Vermont, which was one of his Christmas presents for me. We both absolutely LOVE bread (we’re Germans..we have to love bread!) and I love baking bread a lot…so to learn more about the art of bread baking we spent four hours at this great baking school and learned a ton of new techniques and baker secrets. Of course we also did a little sight seeing and I bought a bunch of NH and VT postcards for my pepals and my own collection. It was my very first time in Vermont and I loved it!

Here’s a picture of King Arthur in beautiful Vermont:

Unlike in Vermont, the weather in Maine has been kind of depressing lately…lots of snow, mud, fog and no sunshine at all. I used to LOVE winter and snow…but over the years that I have spent in Maine I like it less and less because winters are just too long here. So I’m definitely looking forward to spring now! 😀

And since today is such a dark, grey day I figured I’d post pictures of the colorful mail I have received in the past two weeks. 🙂

Lovely letters and a card from my friends in Germany, Texas, Montana, Australia and South Korea. ♥

And some pretty postcards from Germany, Netherlands, Washington and Hong Kong that I have received from friends, through Postcrossing and a Swap-Bot swap. 🙂

I also received this postcard through Postcrossing…

…even though it’s a Montreal (Canada) postcard, it was sent from a Postcrosser who lives here in MAINE! 😉 She lives only 50km (31 miles) away from me (and I’ve been to her town before!)..that’s less than an hour drive! How small is the world?! She figured that I already own all postcards of Maine (she could be right LOL) and so she decided to send me one from Montreal. I think it’s funny that out of the thousands of Postcrossing members she got my address!

This week I’ve mailed out only one letter..to a penpal in Germany:

I’m planning on writing at least one more today and preparing my giveaway, which will start tomorrow. I hope you all have a good weekend! 🙂

Last outgoing mail of 2012

This weekend I was busy writing and preparing the last mail of this year which I’ll take to the post office tomorrow. This includes: 2 birthday presents, 3 letters, 1 swap and 3 postcards:

Colorful letter to one of my Dutch friends:

Penpal birthday card…

…with pretty stamps 🙂

A birthday present for another pal:

My very first swap-bot swap… it’s called “Happy Mail Day” swap and we’re supposed to send a letter and three little surprises to our swap partner:

3 postcards for a swap-bot postcard swap..they go to the US, Canada and the Netherlands:

And last but not least a present to another penpal which I already sent yesterday:

Now I only have three letters left to write…but I will do that in the new year. 🙂

Feeling sick…

I hope you all had a wonderful week! Mine was busy but good. Only four more work days until I’ll be off for 5 days in a row for Christmas! Can’t wait! 🙂 But first comes this weekend….which means ME-TIME! 😀

I’ve been waiting for this weekend for a while because I’ve always had so many things to do and so many places to be the past few weeks and weekends…so I decided to have a relaxed weekend at home. The only times I’ll leave the house will be to go to the post office tomorrow to send this to one of my friends:

…and to go grocery shopping with my husband on Sunday. But other than that I’ll stay home, write two more letters and bake more Christmas cookies. 🙂 Oh and maybe watch a Christmas movie. ♥

Today we had our Christmas party at work and we did a Yankee Swap which was lots of fun. I ended up with two Australian beer glasses and two bottles of beer. LOL I noticed that about half of the presents today were alcohol! Not sure what to think of it. Anyway…we also had pizza for lunch and ever since I had my slice of peperoni pizza, I’m feeling very sick to my stomach. 🙁 I took a nap when I got home…and had some tea. But I’m still not feeling better.

I spent the evening watching “The Santa Clause” and making some new envelopes (I finally have to use up some of the papers I’ve bought! 😛 ) And this is what I’ve made so far:

And some early Valentine’s Day envelopes:

I’m sure I’ll make some more this weekend. 😉 But for now I’m happy with the outcome and I’m going to bed now. Have a wonderful weekend dear friends! Thanks for reading my blog, you rock!
