I never thought I’d hear myself say this because they keep losing and delaying my mail but I still love the United States Postal Service!
Why? Because of this:
Look at the gorgeous stamps we’ll be getting this year! I totally love the muscle car stamps and I was excited when I saw them for the first time (they’ll be released on February 22, 2013)…and yesterday I almost fell off my chair when I saw the beautiful lighthouse stamps! I absolutely love lighthouses and I’m so happy the USPS will release a new set of lighthouse stamps this year! Unfortunately I don’t know the exact release date yet, but I will definitely order a whole bunch of them! 😀
(The lighthouse on the left is Portland Head Light here in Maine. It’s one of the most famous lighthouses and the most photographed one. Everyone who visits my hubby and me has to go there with us 😉 )
If you want to know what new stamps will be released this year, visit the USPS’ website Beyond The Perf
I think they come out with so many nice new stamps to make up for the constant price changes. 😉 What do you think?
This past week has been a slow mail week. I received a total of 1 letter, 1 Christmas present, 3 Christmas cards and 1 postcard. I also mailed out the last Christmas cards and letters…
A postcard from my husband’s friend who went on a business trip to Singapore…and look at the pretty stamp with the shimmering fish he used:
Letter & Christmas card to one of my American penpals:
A Christmas card to another American pal:
And a letter to a German penpal:
And now I have to patiently wait for new letters from my penpals. I hope I’ll receive lots of them soon…because I have a ton of hand made envelopes I want to use! 😉
After spending most of yesterday in bed, drinking tea and sleeping, I’m feeling better today..but still not 100%. I’m planing on writing my fourth “Lovely Letter” to my project partner tonight and bake cookies since I didn’t feel up for it yesterday. Hope you all had a great weekend!
This year I finished my Christmas cards early and they’ve all been ready to be mailed for about two weeks…and now I can finally send them out (I don’t like sending Christmas mail before December)
These are just the cards to family and friends. My penpals get their cards with their December letters. 🙂
I just love this year’s Christmas stamps!
How early do you mail out your Christmas cards?
I’m a big fan of beautiful mailart and I love making envelopes and decorating them as well as my letters. I pay a lot of attention to detail and in my opinion, one part of the mailart that most people overlook are the stamps. Of course not every country has many different, beautiful stamps available but I’m lucky that there are lots of cool stamps sold here in the US.
In the past I always only used the $1.05 stamp to mail letters overseas. But then I realized that always using the same stamp can be boring and I decided to make my envelopes even prettier by using pretty stamps.
So now I’m not using a single airmail stamp anymore…now I use 2,3,4 or even more stamps when I mail letters to other countries. And I try to always use different stamps…which makes especially the stamp collectors very happy. 🙂 Since the stamp values are the same it doesn’t even cost me more money to make my letters prettier with many different stamps. 😀
These are some stamps I bought the other day:
Do you like using pretty stamps? And do you like receiving envelopes with pretty stamps?
This week I went to one of my favorite craft stores – Michael’s. Once again they had some great sales and I found/bought more than I expected. 😉
I totally fell in love with this cute paper which I’m going to use to make my envelopes:
Each pack has 25 sheets, 5 of every kind.
I also found these cute Christmas/winter stickers. Each sticker book contains over 200 stickers and was only $1.
Half of the papers and stickers are on their way to a friend of mine because I like sharing nice things with nice people. 🙂
On my way to the register I walked by a bin with tons of different rubber stamps that are normally $1 a piece. But to my surprise I paid only 60 cents per stamp, which made me very happy because I LOVE rubber stamps! ♥
My favorite of all is this one:
It’s the perfect stamp for a letter lover like me and I was thrilled when I found it! 😀
And here are the other ones I bought:
I already have so many crafty things and papers…but I never can walk by great stuff like this without looking at it…which most of the time leads to buying it. Haha.
Where do you buy crafts supplies? And what are your favorite things to buy? As you can see mine are papers, stickers and rubber stamps. 😀
