Christmas Stationery

I love using season related stationery when I write letters, so of course I’m writing on Christmas stationery this month. Here are my favorite Christmas stationery and stickers I’m using for my penpals’ letters this season.

I found this cute ornament stationery with matching envelopes at AC Moore:

And I ordered this other beautiful Christmas ornament stationery online last year:

And I also found these cute Christmas / winter stickers…at Michael’s:

I think the Christmas season is way too short! I didn’t get to use all of my Christmas papers and envelopes… What about you? Are you using Christmas stationery at the moment or are you writing your letters on regular, non-seasonal stationery?

Friday night…

It’s finally Friday! I’ve been waiting for the weekend for so long. Well, since Monday morning to be exact. 😉 I love weekends because I love being at home, having time to be creative, writing letters and doing other crafts.

Most of the time I write letters on the weekends because it takes me several hours to write one and during the week I’m always so tired after work that I most likely won’t be able to finish a letter.

When is your favorite letter writing time? And do you write your letters in one sitting or in stages? I write most of my letters in one sitting unless I get interrupted and have no time to finish it. If I write long letters I might sit here and write for 3-5 hours straight (with a few kitty interruptions ;-)) After that my hand hurts but I feel great. 🙂

At the moment I have to write 2 letters to Germany and 2 letters to California…not sure how much I’ll get done this weekend since I’ll be busy pretty much all day tomorrow.

Here are a few things I wanted to share with you tonight…

Last week I received my very first swap from Honduras! 😀 This might not seem special to you all but it’s very special to me! I’ve never received mail from Honduras and these postcards definitely are two of my most exotic ones! 😀 I also received some money which looks pretty cool. 🙂

I also received some very cute stationery from Julie in Canada who has a cool Etsy store and runs the Penpal of the Week blog. I’m sure you all know here…if not, you should definitely check out her sites! ♥

What I really like is that you can choose how many sheets of paper and how many envelopes you want. I chose 16 sheets and 2 envelopes because I write long letters….so I need lots of paper! 😛

Isn’t the owl cute?

And because you all know that I’m addicted to making envelopes, I have to share with you the latest ones I made this evening:

The pictures are from a $1 farm calendar that I found yesterday. Perfect for envelope making! 😀 Now is the time to stock up on cheap calendars!

And while I was making my envelopes my cats were busy playing with a big paper bag…

Blackberry is such a sweetheart! ♥

So, tomorrow morning I have to go to the post office to buy my Christmas stamps (can’t wait!!) and I’ll also stop by at the dollar store to get a gift bag and maybe some other things…If I find nice things I’ll probably do a little dollar store shopping haul. 😀

Have a great weekend my dear readers! 🙂

Great Goodwill Finds

Last night I went on a little shopping spree because I wanted to pick up a few things for my cousin’s baby shower next week. I also stopped at our local Goodwill store (thrift store). Every now and then I like to check and see if they have some ‘hidden treasures’. My co-worker finds awesome goodies there all the time…and last night I finally was successful! 😀 I found a package with the cutest stationery set and bought it for $2.99 😀 Thank you to whoever donated it to Goodwill! It looks a little old but it’s still in great condition and I can’t wait to write letters with it.

Furthermore I found two old books which I’m going to take apart and use for my envelope making. ♥ (Here’s my envelope making tutorial)

One is an old world atlas from 1992 ($2.99) and the other book is an old Disney book called “Look and find Mickey and friends”, which was $1.99.  I picked it because the pictures in it are colorful, fun and big enough to use for my envelopes. 🙂

If you have a Goodwill store or other thrift stores in your area…check them out, you never know what treasure you might find! 😀

My Goodwill finds:

The cute stationery set came with writing paper, envelopes, cards and smaller paper:

Stationery from Taiwan

Two days ago I finally received my package from Taiwan! 😀 It was from Janetstore, where I ordered some very cute stationery. It was my third time ordering from Janet and I still love all of her stuff and although the shipping seems expensive…nobody can beat her stationery prices! I got lots of paper for $10 and paid $17 for the shipping. I order from her once a year, so it’s not too bad. 🙂

So here’s what I got:

5 stationery sets with up to 64 sheets each, envelopes and cute little memo papers.

Whaaaaat!?!? I didn’t get anything?!? 😉

And here is one more:

Have you ordered from Janetstore before? If not, you should check out her store! She has so many great things, not only stationery. And like I said, the prices are awesome. The minimum order amount is $10 (you get a LOT for it) and you can choose between different shipping methods. I selected AIR and it cost me $17. Of course the shipping costs depend on the weight and size of your order.

Happy penpalling! 🙂

Stationery from Vistaprint

Yay today I finally got some mail! For some reason my mailbox was empty all week.. 🙁 but today I received my order from Vistaprint.com. 😀

A week ago I was surfing different online printing sites and I looked at the all the different papers and envelopes (many times they have pre-designed ones)…and I came across a pretty floral pattern that I liked a lot. And when I saw that I’d get 10 sheets for FREE, I was very excited. 🙂 However, I didn’t want to pay $4 shipping for paper that was free. So I decided to order some matching envelopes. And when I wanted to check out, I saw the pretty (also matching) address labels…so I ordered them as well.

And here’s what I got:

  • 10 sheets of paper (free)
  • 25 envelopes (with my address printed on it)
  • 144 address labels

Floral pattern on the paper…isn’t it pretty? 🙂 The stationery is letter size by the way…

PRETTY envelopes! ♥ The backside is dark purple with flowers.

And the address labels.

I like it how they used a different, cute font for the name on the labels and the envelopes. I could have printed my address on the stationery too but I didn’t like that.

What do you think? 🙂

This was the first time I’ve ordered from Vistaprint and I must say I’m positively surprised. The turnaround was quick and the quality is good too.

The only thing I didn’t like was the checkout…they tried to trick me into using the more expensive shipping although I selected the cheapest shipping in the beginning. So when you order from them, be careful and read everything twice before you hit submit! 🙂

For those of you who do not live in the US: Vistaprint is international! 🙂

P.S.: My cat is also very happy with Vistaprint…at least with their box LOL
